The museum features over 600 works by Mr. Zhu Zhongsheng, an internationally renowned master from Xinyi, with themes predominantly drawn from traditional Chinese culture, including a hall named “Classics Enduring” that presents works inspired by the Four Great Classical Novels. At the same time, the museum also serves an educational role in science popularization, with facilities such as the “Mammoth World” multimedia exhibition hall that disseminate knowledge about prehistoric creatures like mammoths and convey the concept of ecological civilization.
Our company undertook the display case renovation project for the China Ivory Carving Art Museum in Xinyi, primarily driven by the museum’s internal need for enhanced artifact protection, visitor experience, and overall quality after its opening. Specifically, the project involved upgrading the sealing and micro‑environment control systems to better preserve the precious mammoth ivory carvings, replacing the low‑reflection glass and lighting systems to optimize display effects, and addressing the higher standards arising from natural aging of facilities, increasing visitor numbers, and the integration of culture and tourism development. All these efforts are aimed at ensuring that this new cultural landmark maintains first‑class exhibition standards and lasting appeal.
After the completion of the display case renovation and customization, the museum will take this as a significant opportunity to advance its future development on multiple fronts. In terms of exhibition and visitor experience, the upgraded cases will provide more precise micro‑environmental regulation and superior display quality for over 600 mammoth ivory treasures. In terms of functional expansion, the museum will deeply integrate into Xinyi’s “culture + education + tourism” development strategy, serving as a key stop for comprehensive study tours in the region, and fully leveraging its role as an education base for natural environment protection and a window for displaying intangible cultural heritage. The China Ivory Carving Art Museum in Xinyi, Maoming City, covers an area of approximately 1,300 square meters, with a total construction area of about 4,250 to 4,300 square meters. It is a three‑story irregular‑shaped steel structure building that houses over 600 exquisite works of art created by Mr. Zhu Zhongsheng, an internationally renowned master of mammoth ivory carving from Xinyi, and his team.
For the mammoth ivory carvings, we adopted recessed niche cabinets with a picture‑frame embedded design. This minimizes the visual presence of the cases, directing visitors’ full attention onto the ivory artworks. The display glass features low‑reflection properties, blocks UV rays, and is shatterproof and anti‑glare, effectively protecting the ivories from light‑induced aging.
For the mammoth ivory ornaments recognized as intangible cultural heritage, we used low wall‑mounted display cases. The horizontal elongated cases allow works from the same series to be arranged side by side, making it convenient for visitors to compare and appreciate complete sets of ivory carvings. The glass blocks 99% of UV rays, preventing the mammoth ivory from yellowing, cracking, or weathering caused by prolonged light exposure.
Display case types: To accommodate the display needs of various artifacts, we manufactured over 30 display cases in 5 different models for the museum, including recessed niche cabinets, low wall‑mounted display cases, and others.
