The museum systematically presents the complete historical trajectory of Dazhou and the northeastern Sichuan region from prehistoric times to the contemporary era. It centrally focuses on three distinctive thematic pillars: “Ancient Ba Culture,” “the Glorious Revolutionary Culture of the Chuan-Shaan Soviet Area,” and the “Age of Dinosaurs.”
As a landmark cultural project of Dazhou City, and to meet the public’s growing cultural needs while comprehensively elevating the standards of artifact preservation and exhibition modernity, the museum initiated an ongoing exhibition enhancement plan.
The museum covers a site area of 5,700 square meters, with a total floor area of 9,261 square meters and an exhibition hall area of 6,493 square meters. The main museum building is a multi-story structure. Its collection comprises over 11,000 cultural relics of various categories, including approximately 590 pieces (sets) classified as precious artifacts. The permanent exhibitions systematically display 3,586 pieces of select artifacts, among which are 4 pieces of National Grade One cultural relics.
The project required the provision of distinctly different yet absolutely reliable professional protective environments for artifacts of varied materials. This includes light-sensitive items like paintings and textiles, humidity-sensitive objects such as bronze, bamboo, and wooden ware, as well as heavy stone artifacts and pottery figurines.
We supplied the museum with a total of 43 display cases, including freestanding cases, wall-mounted cases, counters, and rounded display cabinets. For the three main historical exhibition halls, we primarily employed a combination of serialized, modular connected cases and freestanding cases. This unified visual language ensures a clean and modern aesthetic for the exhibition spaces, while the modular design grants the curation team significant flexibility to adjust artifact groupings and narrative flow according to the historical storyline.
All cases utilize low-reflection laminated glass, guaranteeing visitors clear, unobstructed views from any angle and allowing for an immersive experience within the historical narrative.

360-Degree Multi-Tiered Round Display Case: This freestanding case features a minimalist grey cylindrical design paired with multi-tiered transparent glass display shelves. It maximizes vertical space utilization while allowing visitors to walk around and appreciate exhibits on all levels from every angle—particularly suited for the concentrated display of multiple small artifacts or crafts.
Small Recessed Wall Niche Display Case: This custom-designed, small recessed niche display case for the museum employs a simple dark-toned frame and is installed embedded within the wall. It conserves valuable floor space while serving as a supplementary node for wall displays, offering greater layout flexibility for the exhibition hall. This case type is especially suitable for displaying small fragments or minor artifact pieces.
