World Teochew Heritage Centre

Chaozhou City, China 2025.11

The World’s Chaozhouese Historical and Cultural Exhibition Center is a core component of the Zhenhai Tower Extension Project. Its inauguration aligns perfectly with the theme of the 23rd International Chaozhou Community Fellowship Conference, serving as a vital emotional bridge connecting Chaozhouese people across the globe. To systematically narrate the origins, development, and overseas expansion of Chaozhou culture, showcasing its distinctive allure as a significant branch of Chinese civilization.

Guided by a chronological narrative, the exhibition center is divided into two halls and three thematic chapters, systematically presenting the millennial development of Chaozhou culture. The project occupies a total site area of 14,864 square meters.
Hall One: “Origins of the Tide (Chao)”
This hall explores the fundamental questions—”What is ‘Chao’ and where does it come from?”—through multiple dimensions: geography, humanities, and history. It vividly illustrates Chaozhou’s remarkable evolution from a “peripheral frontier of dynasties” into a “renowned coastal center of culture and scholarship” (historically praised as the “Coastal Zou-Lu,” akin to the ancient cultural heartlands of China).
Hall Two: “Heritage Through Time” & “The Tide Reaches the World”
This hall comprises two major chapters: Heritage Through Time: This chapter focuses on the inheritance and innovation of intangible cultural heritage skills in the new era, such as Chaozhou embroidery, Chaozhou ceramics, and Chaozhou wood carving.
The Tide Reaches the World: Through a combination of physical displays and new media interactions, this chapter showcases the epic journey of the Chaozhou people. It tells the story of how they ventured across the oceans aboard “red-headed ships” while maintaining a deep, enduring connection to their homeland.
To accommodate the diverse collection of the World’s Chaozhouese Historical and Cultural Exhibition Center, the design of display cases must address multifaceted requirements tailored to specific artifact types: For paper-based cultural relics, the cases must provide precise environmental controls, including constant temperature and humidity regulation and UV-protective lighting, to ensure long-term preservation.
Our company supplied the exhibition hall with a total of 35 custom display cases across 8 distinct models. To deepen the immersive historical experience, we specially engineered uniquely-shaped, integrated projection display cases.

Featuring a double-layer floating structure integrated with projection technology, this innovative display medium dynamically presents exhibition themes. It brings historical narratives to life with vivid clarity, serving as a pioneering showcase that seamlessly blends physical space with curated content.
The minimalist low-reflective glass museum display cases are available in two configurations: elongated display channels and square cabinets. Their transparent design ensures clear visibility of exhibits such as woven bamboo baskets.
