National Museum of Singapore
Stamford Road, Singapore 2006.07
The museum comprehensively presents over 700 years of Singapore’s history, culture, and social development from the 14th century to the present day. It focuses on showcasing its evolutionary journey from an ancient trading port and a colonial settlement to a modern, international metropolis.
In recent years, to mark significant milestones such as the nation’s 60th anniversary, the museum initiated upgrades to its core exhibition halls. The aim is to narrate a more multi-dimensional and diverse “Singapore Story” to the world through immersive experiences.
The museum has a total floor area of approximately 18,400 square meters. The gallery spaces are distributed between the historically significant main building and a modern annex. The principal exhibition halls and public areas span multiple levels, both above and below ground.
In thematic exhibition areas such as those focusing on colonial-era life and multiculturalism, which feature thousands of small to medium-sized artifacts like coins, jewelry, and tools, we provided a modular and combinable display case system.
To protect light-sensitive paper and parchment collections, including natural history drawings, we supplied large, professional-grade climate-controlled flat display cases.
These cases are equipped with a 100% UV-filtering LED fiber optic lighting system and smart dimming glass, allowing for one-touch switching between visitor viewing and conservation protection modes. This ensures the artifacts remain in an absolutely safe light environment during both display and research.
For this upgrade project, we supplied the museum with a total of 18 display cases. The primary styles included were freestanding cases and counters.
Our collaboration with the National Museum of Singapore stands as a exemplary model of successfully integrating classical architectural space with modern exhibition technology, and combining the safeguarding of physical artifacts with innovative digital storytelling. What we provided was not merely a set of display cases, but a flexible, intelligent, and reliable exhibition ecosystem.
