National Army Museum
London, UK 2017.03
In 2014, the museum launched a major redevelopment initiative named “Building for the Future.” This ambitious project aimed to bridge the gap between the army and the general public, creating a more dynamic and engaging public space.
Centered on the “Soldier,” the upgrade explores the profound connections between the army and the individual, culture, and global society through five thematic galleries: Soldier, Army, Battle, Society, and Insight.
Following the renovation, the museum provides over 2,200 square meters of exhibition space. The main permanent galleries are distributed across four floors of the building.
In accordance with the requirements of the design partners, we provided a comprehensive, customized solution for the five thematic galleries and special exhibition halls.
For Heavy and Large Military Equipment and Artifacts, we supplied super load-bearing reinforced display platforms. These platforms utilize a concealed reinforced steel structure to ensure absolute safety, while their surface finish seamlessly integrates with the gallery’s aesthetic.

For Precious Historical Documents, Oil Paintings, and Textiles, we installed professional-grade sealed climate-controlled (constant temperature and humidity) display cases. The cases integrate a precise environmental control system that maintains fluctuations within an extremely narrow range and employs a professional LED optical system with over 99% ultraviolet filtration. This achieves ‘zero light damage’ protection while perfectly restoring fabric textures and painting colors, ensuring the eternal preservation of these fragile historical witnesses.

For Medium/Small Medals, Weapons, and Personal Effects, we implemented a highly modular combined display case system (including wall-connected cases, freestanding cases, column cases, etc.). A unified minimalist design language ensures visual continuity throughout the exhibition halls, while the modular nature grants the curatorial team exceptional freedom to adjust artifact groupings according to narrative needs at any time, vividly interpreting the “individual’s experience.”
For this project, we supplied the museum with a total of 18 display cases, including freestanding cases, wall-mounted cases, and counters. We strictly adhered to local standards and incorporated the latest craftsmanship techniques, successfully delivering a high-quality custom museum display case service.
This is a custom-designed minimalist white freestanding display case. The cabinet features a pristine white base, enclosed by full-height, high-transparency anti-glare glass. Positioned independently within the exhibition hall, it aligns perfectly with the museum’s modern, minimalist exhibition style while allowing exhibits such as metal armor and weaponry to become the visual focal point.
